For my first blog post I figured I would introduce myself and explain why I am going on the race. I am 17 and a senior in High School, I love spending time with friends and family. My passions include: my love for dance, learning, and working with/ teaching kiddos. I also enjoy hiking, singing in the car, and doing a heel-click just about everywhere I go.

For the past 4 years I had asked God to provide clear guidance on where he is leading me. I asked for some doors to be opened and others to be shut. As God always does, he provided a clear direction for me by shutting many doors. I honestly got discouraged at first because I couldn't find a college I loved or a major that I knew I wanted to pursue, and at the time I still thought that college was Gods plan for me right now.ย

God opened a door to the world race, however, I didn't know if it was a door he wanted me to walk through. After praying, and having friends and family pray I had overwhelming peace and joy with the decision to go. I am really excited to be challenged and learn to grow in new ways. I know it is going to be very difficult, but I am thankful that this is what God is calling me to.
